Online CLUB Qualifiers

Each online qualification weekend is hosted by a single Canadian Premier League club. The winner of the online weekend will represent the respective Club at the eCPL Final. Online club qualification weekends are open for registration to all Canadian competitors (16+) and are available exclusively on PlayStation 4. The 8 winners of the online weekends will qualify for the eCPL Final, which will take place in Toronto on May 9th.

Live CITY Qualifiers

Each Canadian Premier League club is hosting a single-day Live City Qualifier. Join us for a day of FIFA, music and entertainment. All 8 cities will have their own local event, taking place from February 29th to April 26th. Live City Qualifiers are open to all Canadian gamers 16+ and are available exclusively on PlayStation 4. The 8 winners of the Live City Qualifiers will earn a place in the eCPL Final.

PRIZE POOL

The eCPL Champion will be crowned at the eCPL Final which takes place on May 9th in Toronto, ON. The champion will receive a cash prize of $10,000 CAD. Second place will receive $5,000 CAD, and third $2,000 CAD.

ABOUT

The eCPL is the Canadian Premier League’s official EA SPORTS™ FIFA competition. The eCPL is an official league partner of the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 Global series on the road to the FIFA eWorld Cup. 2020 marks the first season of the eCPL, and we invite all Canadians from coast to coast to compete for the chance to be crowned Canada’s champion at FIFA. The season kicks off on February 29th 2020 with weekly online tournaments and live city qualifiers taking place across the country.

ONLINE CLUB QUALIFIERS

eCPL Online Club Qualification Weekends consist of 8 weekend FIFA tournaments running from February 29th until April 26th. Each qualification weekend is hosted by a single CPL club. The winner of the online weekend will represent the hosting Club at the eCPL Final. Online qualification weekends are open for registration to all Canadian competitors (16+) and are available exclusively on PlayStation 4, offering a full online experience, online matches, and live leaderboards. The 8 winners of the online weekends qualify for the eCPL Final in Toronto on May 9th.

LIVE CITY QUALIFIERS

Each Canadian Premier League club will host a live qualification event in their home city. Live City Qualifiers will take place on weekends between February 29th and April 26th* (*dates subject to change). Please see each Live City Qualifier page on ecpl.gg for more information. Competitors at Live City Qualifiers must be (1) Canadian residents and (2) 16+ and are available exclusively on PlayStation 4. The winner of a live city qualifier will represent the host club of the live event at the eCPL Final. The 8 live city qualifier winners will win a trip to the eCPL Final in Toronto where they will represent their club as they battle for the title of national FIFA champion.  

 

Players at the live city qualifiers are competing for the chance to be crowned , where the winner of each live event moves on to represent that city’s club in the finals. There will be a total of 16 competitors in the finals tournament.

FINAL

The eCPL Final takes place on saturday, May 9th in Toronto, Ontario at (TBD). The top 16 players from both the online tournaments (8 representing each club) and city trial tournaments (8 representing each club) will compete at the Final. The Final will be broadcast on OneSoccer and streamed live on Twitch.

FAQs

A: Yes. The eCPL is an official League Qualifier for the Global Series.

A: As a new league in the Global Series, the eCpl is classified as a Licensed Qualifying Tournament I

with 200 Global Series points for the winner. More information on Global Series points can be found here.

A: No. The eCPL tournaments (both live and online) are exclusive to ONLY players who reside in, or are citizens of, of Canada. Competitors must also be 16 year or older to be eligible to compete in both the live and online tournaments

A: On our home page, click on the Login/Register tab or button and you will be prompted with a page to create your own account, username, password, etc. This will guide you to select which tournaments you can register for.

A: To qualify for the eCPL Final you must be a winner of ONE online tournament OR ONE live event tournament. There will be 8 players qualified through live events and 8 players from online tournaments forming a total of 16 players that will earn spots in the eCPL Final.

A: No there is no entrance fee to join the tournament.

A: Travel and accommodation is included for players who will be representing a CPL club in the eCPL Final.

A: Players are allowed to use a FIFA Ultimate Squad with a maximum rating of 86 overall with no attribute cards attributed to players.

Non-registered or non-Verified Players are allowed to compete in eCPL Events, but they will not be able to earn Global Series Points. The Points earned by non-registered or non-Verified Players will be forfeited and cannot be transferred to other Players.

No. Once you have won a live city qualification event or online club qualification weekend you have earned a seat in the final and are therefore ineligible to compete in any qualification events for the remainder of the season. Any winners that register for remaining events will be deregistered.

You can bring your own PlayStation controller. but we will supply controllers for those who don’t have one.
However, we will only allow an ORIGINAL PS4 controller or Xbox controller (you can use an Xbox controller on the PS4). No third party controllers will be allowed.
