On January 30, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak a global health emergency. Since then, governments and health organizations around the world have issued and updated travel health notices and restrictions, including suspension of entry and mandatory quarantines, on individuals deemed to pose a risk for the transmission of the coronavirus.
For the public health and safety of all our eCPL competitors, attendees, staff and all those involved, we have made the decision to cancel all the remaining live city qualification events for the eCPL.
All qualification for the eCPL Final will now be online only.
The two finalists of each online qualification event will qualify for the eCPL Final.
For already completed online events (Halifax and Ottawa): The respective second place players have earned a place in the eCPL Final.
For already completed live qualification events (Calgary and Victoria): Live Event Winners will not be affected and remain qualified for the eCPL Final. Consequently, Pacific FC and Cavalry FC Online Events remain with one qualification seat only respectively.
As for the Final on 9 May, we are currently exploring all options available to us for the Final event, both online and physical.
We encourage players to register and compete in all remaining online qualification events as space is limited.
Thanks,
